He received his JD from the Vanderbilt University School of Law and spent seven years with an international firm Baker McKenzie and the Shanghai office of McDermott Will & Emery before joining Tesla.  Zach ZEE, a compliance specialist, who received his LL.B. from Wuhan University, focuses on U.S. and European companies doing business in China. Prior to joining FuJae, he was with an affiliate of Baker McKenzie.  He is one of the top-ranked compliance and investigation specialists in China.

The FuJae office is in downtown Shanghai at Wheelock Square, 1717 Nanjing Road West. All partners are China natives who attended law schools in the United States and in China. They have extensive experience in China and elsewhere internationally.

According to Richard Yao, Chair of FuJae, such lateral hires will keep the firm’s reputation for providing unparalleled service and superior results for its clients for their regional and international transactions.

“Our goal is to build a market-leading PRC law firm known for its high ethical standards, quality legal work, unique capabilities and operational efficiency,” Yao said. “Our alliance with McGuireWoods, one of the most respected law firms in the world, immediately provides us with a strong global platform from which FuJae is able to provide its clients (Chinese companies seeking investment opportunities in particular) with seamless legal counsel and superior service.”
